The WROF Awards Program – Comprehensive and Effective

Throughout its storied history, the WROF leadership has recognized that “education” is accomplished in a variety of ways. Thus, its Awards Program includes traditional 4-year college scholarships to schools and colleges of agriculture and natural resources in all UW-System institutions.

Additionally 2-year programs and “short courses” such as the UW-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course that provide more targeted education are also extremely valuable in rural Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Vocational Technical System offers critical educational opportunities in traditional agricultural and cutting-edge biotechnology fields.

Nursing and medical students are supported through UW-System schools, Edgewood College, the Wisconsin Institute of Family Medicine and the Vocational Technical System.

Programs that encourage entry into agriculture such as the UW-Madison School for Beginning Dairy and Livestock Farmers receive support as well as leadership and youth development programs such as the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program, 4-H and FFA.

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation, Inc., Inc. Awards Program is a comprehensive and effective educational tool for rural Wisconsin.
