Thanks to you, Kylie’s dream of becoming a large animal veterinarian will begin this fall at UW-River Falls.
But Kylie’s dreams go far beyond her career.
After graduation, Kylie plans to launch a community outreach program offering free veterinary consultations and workshops to help small-scale farmers provide essential care for their livestock. Kylie envisions the workshops empowering small-scale farmers to raise healthy livestock while minimizing stress in the animals.
She also aspires to collaborate with local agricultural organizations to develop farming practices that will benefit both the animals and the economic sustainability of local communities. Her vision includes researching regionally adapted forage varieties and feeding strategies, which she plans to publish and present in seminars. And she’s not stopping there! Passionate about educating the next generation of agricultural leaders, Kylie will partner with local schools and FFA chapters to teach young people responsible animal husbandry.
All this while, she’ll continue to volunteer at local livestock shows – judging, mentoring, and encouraging best practices in animal care.
“By actively contributing to the advancement of sustainable agriculture through education, research, and community engagement, I believe I can play a significant role in ensuring the continued prosperity of our local livestock industry while safeguarding the environment for future generations,” says Kylie.
Kylie’s journey is one of many made possible by your generosity.
Thank you for investing in the future of rural Wisconsin.
With gratitude,
