Dear *{{First Name}}* ,
You help shape a future where rural Wisconsin’s potential can shine.
Please meet Matthew Winch, one of the five WROF, Inc. 2025 Premier Scholars!
Matthew grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Fennimore, WI, which has been part of his family’s history for the past 150 years. Working on the farm has shaped Matthew in countless ways and has inspired him to pursue becoming a large animal veterinarian. This fall, Matthew has started his pre-veterinary studies at the UW-Madison campus.
Because agriculture is the backbone of Wisconsin, Matthew’s goals include ensuring that farmers and livestock producers have access to quality veterinary care. Once he graduates, Matthew plans to open a practice, serving farms of all sizes while also providing a clinic where people from nearby rural towns and communities can bring their animals for any health needs. Returning to Wisconsin is important to Matthew because it allows him to build strong, lasting relationships with farmers and the families he serves. Matthew says that he understands the challenges they face, and he wants to be a trusted source to help maintain healthy and productive herds. In addition, Matthew hopes to stay involved in the agriculture community through 4-H, FFA, and youth mentorships, helping to inspire the next generation of farmers and vets.
“By giving back to the community that shaped me, I can make a lasting impact by continuing to grow both personally and professionally in the place I call home,” says Matthew.
Thank you for allowing rural Wisconsin’s brightest to reach their dreams!
With gratitude,
